LAST DAY DOG RESCUE

Happy Hounds is working with Last Day Dog Rescue Group, who saves dogs literally on their "last day" at shelters up north.  After passing temperament evaluations, they stay with us until a foster home is located, usually about a week or so.   So far we have had the pleasure of giving lots of love and hugs to Lovey, Thunder, Missy, Xander, Roscoe and Mille.  We are very happy when they find a new home, but we are also always sad to see them go since we get so attached to them!   (Just like YOUR dog!)

Training Classes 

Our next class in Basic Obedience begins on Tuesday, November 3rd, however it is FULL at this time.  Our last 3 sessions have been full too, so if you're interested in training classes, best to sign up early for the next available class which begins on Monday, January 18, 2010!  You can enroll right online from our website www.happyhoundsdaycare.com

A  friendly reminder......that all boarding dogs need to arrive by 3PM, or will be subject to a $10 Evening Arrival Fee if arriving after that time.

    We will be celebrating our 5th Anniversary in our true Happy Hounds style...lots of FUN!  We will be having an Open House, where you can tour our facility and boarding house........along with contests, door prizes, vendor booths, food (both human & dog!), a doggie photographer........and lots of other fun surprises!  Stay tuned for more email announcements with details, but mark your calendars now!  You won't want to miss this one!  For those of you who attended our Grand Opening Extravaganza  in 2004 you know what we mean!

Greetings to all you Happy Hounds Parents & Friends! 

Happy Autumn!  The cooler weather has really sparked up the dogs' energies and they are having a GREAT time romping and playing at Happy Hounds!       Here's the news from Happy Hounds!!!

 

Newly Revised Website is on line now!              www.happyhoundsdaycare.com

Even though there are still some areas "under construction", we have added many new features to our website which you will enjoy!  Some of them are:        

• All enrollment forms are now on the website and a client can enroll right online too. This applies to all of our services.
• The new Boarding page has all the pricing and Boarding information
• New page called "Nancy's News" has been added.  Click on the upper right icon on the home page.  You will find the current newsletter there as well as announcements etc.
• There is a new photo gallery, where ALL of our photos will be posted eventually.  You will be able to select them and order prints right away if you like.  (We are still working on this part) 
• Most of all (for me!)  I can now edit each page any time I want to!  I could not do this with the prior programming and I am VERY excited about this so watch for the information to change and be updated regularly on the pages!

FREE SAMPLES! - "Doggie Delicious" - A super choice for natural homemade dog food and treats!  -

    This Tuesday, October 21st, Rochelle, the owner of Doggie Delicious, will be passing out samples of her fabulous dog food and treats at pick up time.   Your dogs will be able to sample the best treats ever, including the best known "CheeseBarker" treat!

Doggie Delicious is just around the corner from us on Wing Street. and Rochelle will be able to take orders on Tuesday and you can swing by her shop to pick your order up after picking up your dog from Happy Hounds.   Droopy recommends them HIGHLY!!!!

 

"ARF SCARFS" - Homemade doggie bandanas - PERSONALIZED with your dog's name embroidered !

    These are just fabulous!  There are samples in the lobby and you can place your orders through Happy Hounds.  They come in a variety of sizes and colors, and your dogs name is embroidered on them.  They make great Holiday gifts for your pet pals too!  These are hand made by one of our clients, Christine S, who is also known as Jake's, the husky/lab's, MOM!

 

OUR WISH LIST:    PLASTIC GROCERY BAGS NEEDED!   GOT ANY OLD SHEETS OR TOWELS?

    Please save your plastic grocery bags for us!  Our supply of bags seems to be depleted faster than the dogs messes need to be cleaned up!  Any amount is appreciated and you can bring them in anytime.  We also gladly accept any used bedding, sheets, or towels that you might be getting rid of.    Thanks so much!

 

CAGE-FREE BOARDING UPDATE:

    Our boarding services have become VERY popular and we have officially moved the boarding to the rear building.  You will still drop off and pick up your dogs at the main entrance to the day care facility, but at the end of the day they will "go home"  to the boarding facility which is a very comfy apartment complete with doggy bedrooms and plenty of soft places to sleep with us overnight.  This, of course, also includes in bed with us if they like.  Cage-Free is the best!

    A friendly reminder to get your boarding reservations in for the upcoming Holiday periods ASAP!  We will most certainly fill up fast for the Holidays and we want to accommodate you all!    There is also a 2 NIGHT MINIMUM STAY for Holiday periods, and any cancellations of Holiday period reservations must be made 7 days in advance or a 50% charge of your boarding fees will be charged for cancellation.  Once we reserve the space for you it is yours and if you need to cancel we must have time to refill the slot.

 

ADDITIONAL DOGGIE EXERCISE IS AVAILABLE!   Don't have time to walk your dog??

     We now have a Doggie Treadmill, where your "pleasantly plump" dogs can walk off the love handles if you like.  Or the fun and fit pooches can maintain their figures!  This will be an added service and can be reserved right when you come in with your dog.  The cost will be $5 for  each 15 minutes, and a staff member will monitor them while the treadmill is in use.  This should be a lot of fun!

PLYMOUTH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE -  Happy Hounds has a Christmas tree in the "WALK OF TREES"

    Over 55 Christmas trees decorate Kellogg Square in Plymouth over the Holidays and Happy Hounds is sponsoring one of them.  Take a walk in the park, get a coffee or cocoa, visit Santa and visit our tree!   The dogs are helping to craft some of the decorations and you may find your dogs photo there too!  It will be decorated by all the Staff of Happy Hounds!  (With SPECIAL supervision by Miss Susan!)

June 2008 Newsletter

Dear Happy Hounds Parents and Friends,

Summer is here and we hope you are all enjoying the nice warm weather! We have the pools out at Happy Hounds now and your dogs are having a great time in them! Here's whats new at Happy Hounds!

WE ARE GROWING! EXPANDING OUR BOARDING FACILITY!!!

The new fence is up and we are moving in! We are very excited be moving our boarding services to the building directly behind Happy Hounds. This building formerly had 2 apartments that we rented out.. Happy Hounds now will have the whole first floor of that building to expand for our cage-free boarding. The fence will connect both buildings and the new boarding space will be EVEN MORE homelike for the comfort of your dogs, and our handlers too! Drop off and pick up of your dogs will remain in the original lobby of the day care building.

As a reminder, in keeping with our cage-free day care, we offer cage-free boarding. Dogs are supervised 24/7 by a staff member who will sleep with your dog in our home-like environment. You can enjoy your vacation knowing that your dog is getting personalized attention with lots of hugs and rubs all day long and nighttime too! For as little as $15 per night you will have peace of mind while you are out of town.

Space is still limited, so it is best to make your reservations as soon as you book your vacation plans, PARTICULARLY FOR HOLIDAY WEEKENDS. Call us today!

<>SUMMER OBEDIENCE TRAINING CLASSES - <>ON SALE NOW!

The summer class schedule is now out and all classes are on sale through August 31st. Each session is once a week for 6 weeks. Regular price is $145.00 - Sale price $130.00 Classes are kept small (4-6 dogs) for individualized attention so it's best to enroll ASAP. The starting dates for the next 3 sessions are: June 17th, July 21st, and Sept 16th. A dog with manners is an even bigger pleasure to live with!

DAY CARE IS OPEN ON SATURDAYS:

Just a reminder that Happy Hounds is open on Saturdays. The hours are different than the weekday = 8AM to 5PM. All dogs must arrive by 10AM. Going shopping or having a party that night that you would like your dog to be all tired out for??? Have them come play on Saturday!

HAPPY HOUNDS GIFT CARDS AVAILABLE JUNE 1ST!

Just like all the restaurants and stores, Happy Hounds now has gift cards available! They make a very nice presentation for a gift, or you can use it for yourself as "Happy Cash" to use at Happy Hounds for anything you like. Gift cards are available in any dollar amount you would like. We'll be happy to take your phone order with a credit card, and have them ready for you when you come! HAPPY HOUNDS

WEBSITE UPDATES ARE COMING!!!

If you've noticed some "glitches" in our website lately it is because certain areas of it are "Under Construction" and may appear weird until the entire overhaul is completed. Things to watch for are: Tons of new photos, that you can EASILY download and print, a NEWS page with up-to-date- current events at Happy Hounds, on-line enrollment forms, and lots more. We will keep you posted on the progress of this project.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES !

This month's Birthday Party will be on Monday, June 23rd. We will celebrate the birthdays of all the dogs born in June at one BIG Party! We have birthday hats for the dogs, balloons, photos, party favors, and a "bone-shaped" birthday cakefor them from the dog bakery. You will receive an email invitation and can RSVP anytime so make your reservations today! Your dog will thank you for it!

LOBBY ETTIQUETTE IS IMPORTANT FOR SAFETY

Please remember to observe our lobby ettiquette rules of ONE DOG AT A TIME. (Owners of multiple dogs are permitted to bring all of their dogs in together at the same time). Even though your dog played with his best pal during the day here, the dogs can react totally different when on leash to leave, particularly to "defend" their moms & dads. For everyone's safety. please observe this rule. Thanks!
